Functional Analyst at Tobania, tell me?
Your dream is to create the perfect application for your client. That is why we call you the translator from business needs to functionalities. And as Functional Analyst you have everything in hand to make this dream come true!
You are responsible for mapping out these needs and your customer expectations. You will document and further elaborate the functional requirements, according to the business analysis. Then you will pass on the functional specifications to the software developers.
You then follow up the development neatly and ensure that functional tests are carried out as described in the user stories and test scenarios. Because you want your dream to come true, right?
As a technological expert, you keep up with the customer's challenges and know how to translate them perfectly into functionalities and concepts. With an active role in the project, you guide your client and colleagues through its development. In short, you are the link between business and IT.
This puts a smile on your face:
- You perform functional analyses of information systems so that they meet the needs of your customer.
- You check the result of your analysis and then sit down with your IT colleagues to discuss the technical side of things.
- You ensure a good transfer of the functional specifications to the software engineers. After all, they have to realise your dream!
- On the basis of your analysis, you draw up functional test cases. You also carry these out. This is important in order to achieve a good result. And that is, of course, what you are aiming for.
- You work agile: you develop, evaluate and adjust. Always in consultation with your colleagues.
- You challenge your business partner if time, scope or budget restrictions make it impossible to add certain functionalities.
What do you get in return?
Tobania offers you:
- an indefinite contract.
- a competitive salary with plenty of fringe benefits such as a company car, 12 extra vacation days, lunch cheques and group and hospitalisation insurance.
- a team of supportive colleagues who will make you feel right at home.
- the opportunity to turn these colleagues into friends at one – or more – of our awesome events.
- a chance to develop your talents in our Tobania.Academy and on-the-job coaching.
- a clean desk at one of the most impactful work islands in Strombeek-Bever (which you can occasionally swap for your home office).
So ... Tobania, who’s that again?

Working at Tobania...
An all-inclusive experience!

Never stop growing
“I am a good listener: as long as I can remember friends come to me for a much-needed chat. It quickly became clear what I wanted to do in life: helping people by listening to their story. Psychology was the obvious study choice. Initially, I planned to be a therapist with my own practice, but in the end, I opted for Personnel Management and Industrial Psychology.”
“The way I look at (working) life has been influenced by the Chiro. I’ve been an active member of this community since primary school. I use these experiences in my job every day. That’s something I wish everyone could do: combining your passion with your job. With our current retirement age, it’s even more important to be able to do what you love!”
“I like to see how people grow, but I also want to keep working on myself. That is why I chose Tobania: I already saw in the job description that I would get so many chances, even being a junior. I grab these opportunities with both hands."
“Being a junior corporate talent acquisition specialist appealed to me, of course, but a good atmosphere is just as important. I love the ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality. For our motivation, we get so many great moments and events in return.”
Jenna Bloem, Recruitment & Employer Branding Expert at Tobania

Live up to your ambitions
“I initially started as a consultant at Tobania, but always with an ambitious plan in mind. I wanted to play my part in the story of a company. That promise has been fulfilled after two years: I grew from a consultant Program Manager to Operations Manager. This way, I contribute to the company’s game plan.”
“Being Operations manager at Tobania.Business, I am responsible for the link between our customers and our business consultants, together with my team of Business Managers. That also includes a lot of operational follow-up: I keep a close eye on the effeciency and budget of our unit.”
“We write the story of Tobania together: for me that’s only possible with motivated colleagues, who want to work together on the bigger picture. It's just like cooking: all ingredients together determine the success of your dish. Only with the right combination, you can achieve the best results: in the workplace and in the kitchen! Suprised that I’ll soon be the proud owner of a chef’s degree?”
David Decreemer, Operations Manager at Tobania

The best version of yourself.
“I heard about Tobania through the grapevine. At the time, I was looking for an open-minded company where I would feel at home. Even though I work as a testing consultant on location, I always get a warm welcome at the head office in Strombeek. We regularly meet up with the other consultants at the many events that are organised: an open bar with silent disco, team buildings,… It’s nice to exchange experiences with the other Tobians, although we work at compagnies all over Belgium.”
“Being a junior, you mainly want to gain experience and educate yourself further. I wanted to become a teacher for a long time so counselling is very important to me. As a junior at Tobania, we all have a coach who helps us to find our own way and who listens to how we feel. If you deviate a little bit too much from the right path, he will send you back in the right direction. I also appreciate the opportunity to follow training on a variety of interesting topics.”
“Your career path often makes detours. Maybe even a U-turn? The opportunity to develop yourself is something I wish everyone could get. For example, I studied business management & marketing, but during my first jobs I found out it was less interesting to me. Testing and analysis are really the fields where I excel. My current project at IMEC is the ideal combination of both."
