Thank you for your application, we will contact you as soon as possible.
You are at the core of every product development cycle. You know exactly what the customer needs, can easily envision the product, and are able to communicate a clear vision to the development team. In other words: you are the bridge between developers and stakeholders in Agile projects. To do this, you take on several roles, including business strategist, product designer, market analyst, customer liaison, and project manager. A big challenge, but wasn’t that what you were looking for?
What do Product Owners do at Tobania?
-
Define the vision: you use your high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for development projects. Despite the flexible and often fast-paced nature of Agile product development you always keep the bigger picture in mind.
-
Participate in daily routines: as a tactical member of the product development team, you attend daily scrum meetings and prioritise the backlog. Why? Because your responsibility is to ensure the developers are working efficiently and on the right items.
-
Communicate business requirements: you help the team by grinding the vision into simple ‘when?’ and ‘what?’ snippets. You also realise that requirements will change over time and know how to adjust to those changes.
-
Build relationships with stakeholders: you gain the trust of stakeholders, respond to their feedback and look out for market trends to exceed their expectations.
What profile are we looking for?
Besides your obvious drive and motivation, you’ll increase your chances by combining two or more of these criteria:
-
Studies: you must have completed a Product Owner training.
-
Experience: related work experience in Agile projects is required.
-
Languages: proficient in Dutch and/or French, and a good knowledge of English.
-
Personal interests: you think agile from the moment you wake up until you go to bed.
-
Strengths: an excellent communicator and a team player.
-
Expertise: you combine decisiveness with flexibility.
What do you get in return?
Tobania offers you:
-
an indefinite contract.
-
a competitive salary with plenty of fringe benefits, such as a company car, 12 extra vacation days, lunch cheques, a group and hospitalisation insurance.
-
a team of supportive colleagues who’ll make you feel right at home.
-
a chance to develop your talents in our Tobania.Academy and on-the-job coaching.
-
a challenging job on location.

Working at Tobania...
An all-inclusive experience!

Work and life, perfectly balanced
“I originally graduated in Public Administration. When I started applying for jobs, I was looking for an open-minded atmosphere. I like to leave my own mark, take initiative. So, after a few detours I ended up at Tobania. I am currently working as a consultant at Toba HR Solutions. That means that I implement staff scheduling software. That sounds complicated and, indeed, there is a lot of work involved. Every company works differently when it comes to HR and payroll. We analyse those methods and ensure the software is customised to their approach.”
“What you need for this job? Perfection. And customer-friendliness. Working in a bakery on Sunday for six years, I gained a lot of experience with it.”
Ann-Sofie Verstraete, HR Software Consultant at Tobania
“I can put my customer-friendliness into practice at Toba HR Solutions, but I like to do it my way. Sitting on the same spot every day for eight hours, doesn’t give me the right energy. As a consultant, I am free to set my own agenda. If I really lost my focus at 4 pm, I can leave the office and continue in the evening when my head’s in the game again. Trust and freedom balance work with life: they are extremely important to me.”
“I also keep on dreaming. My boyfriend and I sometimes dream about our own future business, a huge vegetable garden, accompanied by a few animals. We could use the harvest at our own restaurant. We already have a few chickens at home and we will soon be moving back to the countryside. Does that count a bit too?”

It’s a colourful life
“Trying new things adds colour to your life, it provides variety. That is something I wish everyone could do: take control of your life and try something new. Take steps towards what you really want to do. I apply this approach at work: give people the chance to be themselves. Then you can really discover the strengths in the other person and achieve quality together.”
“I am currently working as a coordinator/coach on a project at Partena Professionals. We are working according to a "Try and Hire" principle. We recruit new employees and coach them to be the best version of themselves in their field. After this learning phase, they become a Partena employee. I help them with every challenge they can face on that journey.”
“I don't like labels, so I actually don’t like to call myself ‘coach’. I like to focus on the person behind a role. This employee centricity of Tobania.Business is what really appealed to me. We embrace a non-classical way of thinking and approach projects with a focus on qualitative results. We are not a staffing company, but we develop business solutions for the customer, which we implement at our clients.”
Annelies Smetryns, Change Manager at Tobania

It's like music to your ears
“I am a passionate musician and I have played together with lots of metal bands in Belgium, but also abroad. Not until being a teenager, I learned to play the guitar, but I soon went full on. Wasted Years by Iron Maiden would be the perfect soundtrack for my journey. The title is misleading: it's about looking at the future and persevere in life. That is also very important in my job as a project manager. I enjoy making progress at a project and working together with a variation of teams to achieve it.”
“I actually studied Applied Linguistics, but teaching or translating was not something that appealed to me. Fortunately, good communication is necessary in every company. During my first job, I ended up playing a team leader role and it suited me to manage different teams. I am taking part in meetings most of the day. We work on solutions, both in the technical and business department.”
“Tobania is young at heart and that appeals to me. At the same time, Tobania has a critical attitude, also towards its own operation methods. Moreover, the opinion of the consultants is listened to: they keep your place of residence in mind and take your other preferences into account. HR chooses to conduct a practical and concrete policy, which I really like."
