What do Project Officers do at Tobania?
-
Organise project meetings: on a regular basis, Project Officers meet with the Project Manager to review progress and to discuss future steps. The Project Officer also arranges meetings with the members of the project and records everything that’s said at those meetings.
-
Maintain documents: Project Officers are responsible for maintaining crucial project documents which track project progress. They file all project documents in an appropriate database or library and ensure that all documents are accurate and have been accepted by the Project Manager.
-
Identify problems and risks: being so closely involved with the project, the Project Officer is relied upon to identify any potential issues or risks that could affect its progression. They communicate these items with the Project Manager, and work to identify potential solutions.
-
Manage the schedule: Project Officers closely watch the project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task. They regularly check if deadlines are still feasible and report any potential delays to the Project Manager.

Working at Tobania...
An all-inclusive experience!

Never stop growing
“I am a good listener: as long as I can remember friends come to me for a much-needed chat. It quickly became clear what I wanted to do in life: helping people by listening to their story. Psychology was the obvious study choice. Initially, I planned to be a therapist with my own practice, but in the end, I opted for Personnel Management and Industrial Psychology.”
“The way I look at (working) life has been influenced by the Chiro. I’ve been an active member of this community since primary school. I use these experiences in my job every day. That’s something I wish everyone could do: combining your passion with your job. With our current retirement age, it’s even more important to be able to do what you love!”
“I like to see how people grow, but I also want to keep working on myself. That is why I chose Tobania: I already saw in the job description that I would get so many chances, even being a junior. I grab these opportunities with both hands."
“Being a junior corporate talent acquisition specialist appealed to me, of course, but a good atmosphere is just as important. I love the ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality. For our motivation, we get so many great moments and events in return.”
Jenna Bloem, Recruitment & Employer Branding Expert at Tobania

It's like music to your ears
“I am a passionate musician and I have played together with lots of metal bands in Belgium, but also abroad. Not until being a teenager, I learned to play the guitar, but I soon went full on. Wasted Years by Iron Maiden would be the perfect soundtrack for my journey. The title is misleading: it's about looking at the future and persevere in life. That is also very important in my job as a project manager. I enjoy making progress at a project and working together with a variation of teams to achieve it.”
“I actually studied Applied Linguistics, but teaching or translating was not something that appealed to me. Fortunately, good communication is necessary in every company. During my first job, I ended up playing a team leader role and it suited me to manage different teams. I am taking part in meetings most of the day. We work on solutions, both in the technical and business department.”
“Tobania is young at heart and that appeals to me. At the same time, Tobania has a critical attitude, also towards its own operation methods. Moreover, the opinion of the consultants is listened to: they keep your place of residence in mind and take your other preferences into account. HR chooses to conduct a practical and concrete policy, which I really like."
Jef Van De Weghe, Project Manager at Tobania

A passion for solutions
“Being solution-oriented is one of my core values. As a Business Support Consultant at ING, I propose effective solutions to the bank customers. They call or mail us with a large variation of help requests. I like to offer them answers in the long run: no temporary arrangements. It is like working on my car: temporarily solving coolant problems only makes the situation worse.”
“Being a Business Support Officer, I sometimes face challenges: I love it, though! I am always willing to help people: whether they are friends, colleagues or customers. Yet, the great thing about working at Tobania is that there is a balance between my work and private life. I always get the change to go for a walk with my two dogs after work: this is the best way to stand back and recharge. Because of balance, my enthusiasm often stands out at work. Every day again”
“I don't like being treated like a number: humanity is an important value in my life, and therefore also in my career. At Tobania, I will get the chance to work outside-of-the-box. All possibilities for the future are still open. Isn't it nice to be that flexible and dynamic? I got quite a passion for IT. In the nineties, we had an old Windows 95at home: I spent hours on it. Maybe, I will make the switch to Tobania.Testing in the future?”
