MeetUp Recap | Becoming a Scrum Master Programmer

#TobaniaStories   |   31 05 2023

Hi tech enthusiasts! We had a great time at our latest MeetUp event on Wednesday 24 May, during which we immersed ourselves in the world of programming languages and explored the innovative new language called Scrum. Developed by our Architect Lead Jan Van Wassenhove, Scrum is poised to revolutionise the way we code and build a powerful bridge between technology and business.

Couldn’t join us to find out all about it? And would you like a quick overview of what has been discussed? Well, here’s a concise summary of the insightful discussions and fascinating topics we covered that evening:

Compiler Development

One of the highlights of the evening was delving into the intricacies of building a compiler for Scrum. We explored the inner workings of this cutting-edge programming language and learned how it simplifies the development process while enhancing productivity.

Taking the Plunge (Without Jumping!)

Jan Van Wassenhove, the creator of Scrum, shared his fascinating journey with us. We discovered how his decision not to jump out of a plane (an item on his bucket list) actually led to the birth of Scrum. It is incredible how unexpected moments can shape our lives and even pave the way for ground-breaking innovations!

“We embarked on a compelling trip through time, exploring the evolution of programming languages.”

A Ride Through Programming Language History

We embarked on a compelling trip through time, exploring the evolution of programming languages. From the early pioneers to today, we discovered how each language contributed to the development of the vibrant technology landscape we know nowadays.

Furthermore, we delved into how Scrum offers a whole new perspective on bridging technology and business processes. By translating business requirements into understandable and executable code, Scrum enables developers and stakeholders to collaboratively define and execute code that directly addresses business needs. This approach enables organisations to deliver high-quality software with improved efficiency and adaptability, as software solutions are not just theoretical ideas, but tangible and executable solutions.

Let’s shape the future together!

It was a truly wonderful evening of knowledge sharing and networking. We would thus like to sincerely thank Jan Van Wassenhove for attending and sharing his valuable insights on Scrum. In addition, we would also like to express our thanks to all attendees for their active participation and for making this MeetUp a hit.

If you missed this event, don’t worry! Stay tuned for more exciting MeetUps and workshops in which we will continue to explore the frontiers of technology. Join our community and let’s shape the future together!
